Third Point LLC is a New York-based alternative investment manager, founded in 1995 by Daniel S. Loeb, employing an opportunistic and event-driven investment approach across public and private markets. The firm invests globally across the capital structure through event-driven and fundamental equities, corporate credit, structured credit, private credit, CLOs and venture capital strategies. Third Point has historically focused on identifying catalysts in mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, distressed situations and other special situations, while its credit platform spans performing, distressed, structured and privately originated credit. In 2025, Third Point expanded its credit capabilities through the acquisition of Birch Grove, adding CLOs, opportunistic private credit, senior loans and high-yield strategies.
