About

The definitive map of global private markets.

DataBane was built to solve a frustrating problem: private markets data is fragmented, expensive, and often out of date. We're fixing that — one verified profile at a time.

What we do

We research, structure, and publish data on alternative investment firms — private equity, venture capital, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and hedge funds. Every profile is reviewed by human analysts before it goes live. We cover firm fundamentals, fund history, capital allocation, and key contacts.

Why we built it

The tools that institutional investors, fund managers, and financial analysts use for private markets research are either locked behind expensive subscriptions or built for enterprise sales teams. DataBane is built for practitioners — accessible, accurate, and free to start.

How the data is maintained

Our analyst team sources data from public filings, company websites, press releases, regulatory databases, and professional networks. All profiles go through an editorial review before publishing. We update profiles continuously as new information becomes available.

Coverage

We currently cover firms across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Our coverage spans six major asset classes and is growing every week as our analyst team adds new profiles and deepens existing ones.
