Founded in 1994, the Railways Pension Scheme provides occupational pensions to the UK railway industry through financially ring-fenced defined benefit and defined contribution sections. Railways Pension Trustee Company Limited is its corporate trustee, Railpen Limited its administrator, and Railway Pension Investments Limited its investment manager. The Scheme invests through pooled funds, with investment coverage including public equities, bonds, private equity, property and infrastructure.
