Kohlberg announces final close of Fund VIII

Kohlberg announced the final close of Kohlberg Investors VIII, its eighth private equity fund. The fund was oversubscribed and closed at its stated hard cap, supported by existing limited partners and new institutional investors. Participants included public and corporate pension funds, endowments, insurance companies and family offices. The release described Kohlberg's middle-market investment activity across industrial manufacturing, consumer products, business services, healthcare services and financial services. It also placed the fundraising in the context of the firm's control-buyout and add-on acquisition history. Lazard acted as placement agent for Kohlberg, and Ropes & Gray served as legal counsel in forming the fund.
