MassMutual closes Nationwide reinsurance transaction

MassMutual announced a fixed Universal Life with Secondary Guarantees reinsurance agreement with Nationwide. The same source confirms closing on June 9, 2026. MassMutual retains administration; Barings was appointed an investment manager for the block and additional Nationwide general-account assets. Approximate reserves are not deal consideration.
