Santander completes Webster acquisition and announces leadership transitions

Santander Holdings USA announced completion of its acquisition of Webster Financial Corporation following shareholder and regulatory approvals. Webster Bank became a division of Santander Bank, N.A. Former Webster CEO John Ciulla became CEO of Santander Bank, while Luis Massiani became Chief Operating Officer of Santander US and Santander Bank. Most of Webster's businesses joined Santander Bank. The announcement said customers could continue using existing accounts and products during integration.
