Crosscut-backed Solestial acquisition by York Space Systems closes
Crosscut Ventures →York Space Systems announced completion of its acquisition of Solestial on June 4, 2026. Solestial became a wholly owned subsidiary and was expected to continue supplying solar products to external customers while integrating with York’s spacecraft business. The announcement emphasized domestic production and control of a critical satellite subsystem. Solestial manufactures silicon solar cells and flexible modules for space applications in Tempe, Arizona. Crosscut had joined Solestial’s Series A in May 2025, and Crosscut’s portfolio directory now identifies Solestial as acquired by YSS. Neither Crosscut’s individual proceeds nor its ownership percentage was disclosed. Company-wide consideration is not treated as Crosscut’s exit value.
