Cascade joins Ginkgo Ferment Consortium

Ginkgo announced the Ferment Consortium in October 2019, identifying Cascade Investment, Viking Global Investors and General Atlantic as backing investors. The vehicle supported new companies using Ginkgo’s platform. Ginkgo’s 2021 annual report later described the investment-rights agreement and stated that it terminated in May 2021. No consortium-wide commitment is attributed as Cascade’s individual contribution.
