Iberdrola agrees to acquire Ararat Wind Farm from OPTrust and Partners Group

Iberdrola announced an agreement on December 18, 2025 to acquire the entire Ararat Wind Farm in Victoria, Australia, from Partners Group and OPTrust. The 242-megawatt facility had operated since 2017 and sold most of its electricity through power purchase agreements with large customers. Iberdrola said the acquisition would expand its Victorian generation presence and support electricity supply to business customers. The wind farm could benefit from planned transmission infrastructure, including Western Renewable Link and Project Energy Connect. The acquisition remained subject to customary conditions at announcement. The release did not disclose a purchase price, OPTrust’s individual ownership percentage, its proceeds, or a completed closing date.
