Imerys UK Pension Scheme appoints Aon as fiduciary manager

Aon announced its appointment as fiduciary manager by Imerys UK Pension Fund Trustees Limited on September 26, 2023. The UK pension scheme had £550 million and nearly 5,900 members. Aon had already served as actuary and provided investment advice for more than a decade. Following a competitive tender, its remit expanded to implementation and day-to-day investment decisions alongside advice and journey planning. The trustee described the administrative burden of overseeing eight investment managers without an internal investment team. Its selected approach continued the scheme’s diversified, liquid investment policy while delegating daily management. The announcement concerned the pension scheme’s assets, not a corporate acquisition or a new private-fund capital commitment.
