Townsend becomes unaffiliated while retaining Aon sub-advisory role
Aon Investments →A Riverside-led group completed its acquisition of Townsend Group from Aon plc on August 1, 2024, according to Townsend’s regulatory brochure. Three other institutions co-invested alongside Riverside. The ownership change made Townsend independent of Aon, with Anthony Frammartino assuming the chairman and chief executive roles at closing. Townsend said its client relationships and commitments remained in place. Aon Investments USA’s subsequent regulatory disclosure confirms that Townsend continues as an unaffiliated sub-adviser, supplying research and real estate solutions for advisory and discretionary clients. The sale therefore changed corporate ownership without ending this investment-service relationship. The legal seller was Aon plc; this event is not attributed to Aon Investments as a principal portfolio-company disposal.
