Aviva launches wholly owned U.S. specialty insurance platform

Aviva launched Aviva Specialty, a wholly owned platform headquartered in New York. It planned to begin underwriting commercial property risks in the fourth quarter of 2026, with later expansion into cyber, specialty and financial lines, and specialty casualty. The platform is led by president Mike Karmilowicz and will write on Aviva Insurance Limited paper.
