Shimadzu completes Tescan acquisition for USD 711 million

Shimadzu completed its acquisition of all shares in Glass HoldCo on 10 July 2026, making Tescan wholly owned. The buyer reported an acquisition price of USD 711 million. The transaction was first announced by Shimadzu on 25 December 2025; Carlyle’s January 2026 release reported a separate $850 million enterprise value. The current acquisition price is distinct from enterprise value and Carlyle’s individual proceeds.
