Carlyle-backed Avenrock Energy agreed to acquire Parallax Energy Operating from Carnelian Energy Capital. Carlyle International Energy Partners supplies the equity. Parallax operates Canadian oil and gas assets, and Paul Smith will lead Avenrock. The transaction remained subject to customary conditions and approvals.
