Stonepeak to Acquire BMO Transportation and Vendor Finance

Stonepeak and BMO Financial Group announced on May 11, 2026 that Stonepeak will acquire BMO’s Transportation Finance and Vendor Finance businesses. BMO will reinvest for a 19.9% minority position, while Stonepeak will control the business. The target provides financing for trucks, trailers and other transportation and specialized equipment and operates across the United States and Canada with more than 700 employees. Stonepeak said the acquisition builds on its experience in transportation asset leasing, including investments such as Textainer, Air Transport Services Group and TRAC Intermodal. PGIM is supplying asset-based financing and Bank of America is Lead Financing Arranger. The purchase price was not disclosed. The parties expect the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 following customary regulatory approvals.
